Active Voice

Active Voice atau sering disebut sebagai kalimat aktif ialah kalimat yang subyeknya sedang melakukan suatu pekerjaan. Atau kejadiannya terjadi secara langsung.

Passive Voice atau disebut juga kalimat pasif ialah kalimat yang subjeknya dikenai suatu pekerjaan. Atau kejadiannya terjadi secara tidak langsung.

Rumus dari Passive Voice :

S + Auxiliary Verb + Past Participle

Catatan :

Ø  Auxiliary verb dapat berupa be (is, are, am, was, were) maupun kombinasi antara dua primary auxiliary (is/are being, was/were being, has/have been) maupun antara primary dengan modal (will be, will have been).

Ø  Kombinasi auxiliary digunakan pada bentuk pasif pada tenses. Penjelasan lebih lengkap dapat dilihat di Bentuk Pasif pada Tenses, Infinitive, dan Gerund.

Ø  Past participle yang digunakan berupa kata kerja transitive (memiliki direct object).

Example :

            billy can’t drive a car. (active voice, transitive), He always come on time. (active voice, intransitive)

Example :

            Sit (Simple Form) ‒› Sat (Past Participle), Sleep (Simple Form) ‒› Slept (Past Participle)

Present Continous	I am reading a story	A story is being read by me
Past Continous	She was writing a novel	A novel was being written by her
Present Perfect	Rina has watered this plant for 5 minutes	This plant has been watered by Rina for 5 minutes.
Past Perfect	Nina had met them before I came.	They had been met by Nina before I came
Present Future	He will meet them tomorrow	They will be met by him tomorrow
Past Future	Taylor should forget the tragedy	The tragedy should be forgotten by Taylor
Present Perfect Continous	Jacob have been meeting with Bella	Bella have been being met with Jacob
Past Perfect Continous	Ila had been bicycle	The bicycle had been being played by Ila
Present Future Perfect	They will have finished the projects before then	The projects will have been finished before then
Past Future Perfect	She would be watering this plant	This plant would be being watered by her
Present Future Continous	He will be meeting them	They will be being met by him
Past Future Continous	He would be meeting them	They would be being met by him
